The National Theatre of Northern Greece and the Cyprus Theatre Organisation have sealed their cooperation with the renewal of an artistic cooperation programme between the two state theatres aimed at promoting and developing dramatic art.

The Protocol of Cooperation was signed on Friday, 29 January 2016 by Yiannis Anastasakis, Artistic Director of the National Theatre of Northern Greece and Yiannis Toumazis, Chairman of the board of the Cyprus Theatre Organisation, at a simple ceremony at THOC Theatre in the presence of members of the board, mass media representatives and THOC personnel. 

The three-year agreement expresses the shared will of the two State Theatres for cooperation and exchanges based on four pillars  (a) the study, research and interpretation of ancient drama (b) the development and strengthening of modern Greek playwriting (c) classic and modern world repertoire (d) research and experimentation in new theatrical movements.

The Protocol of Cooperation will include exchange of performances, co-productions, reciprocal exchanges of actors, theatre theorists, technicians and others of various theatre specializations, educational programmes, teaching, seminars, lectures and all forms of cooperation on issues of theatrical education, training, organisation, operation, theatre technology and artistic expressio
